8th Annual Bun Run for the Cure
You have questions, I have answers.
The Bun Run for the Cure was created in 2009 as a "Just Because/give back to the Community" kind of thing. Because of the participants, sponsors, volunteers, and the Lord above, it has grown exponentially! In the past 8 years, we have raised over $105,000 for Komen Austin and recently, the Bun Run for the Cure became a scholarship program, and has given $36,000 to local high school seniors!
Why was the Bun Run started? When?
Tues. April 25 from 11-2 at Pocket's Grille in Smithville. This is a fun, family event! Dress up! Think pink everywhere--costumes, wigs, crazy socks! The crazier the better!
When is packet pickup? What do I wear to the race?
The last day to register online is two days before the race, at midnight. But you can come early and register the day of the race. T shirts are first come, first serve, however.
When is the last day to register?
Heck no, you won't be intimidated! Just like any race, there are hard-core runners, however, the majority of participants come to enjoy the scenery, dress cute, and walk the route.
I'm not a runner. But I can walk! :) Will I be intimidated?
Babies, strollers, bikes, and dogs (leashed, duh) are welcome! Dress everyone up!!! Be creative!!! :)
The Bun Run starts and finishes at Pocket's Grille in Smithville at 10am. Parking is limited, so park at the Smithville Recreation Center and walk across the street to the race.
